IFSI works with new immigrants who have been in the country for less than ten years. IFSI adopts a holistic approach to serving immigrants by integrating children, parents, grandparents, and other stakeholders into a village model.
IFSI offers educational support and enrichment services to children in grades K-12 though PLUS+ Programs after school, on weekends and in the summer. In addition, IFSI hosts a Youth Leadership Program for high school students.
IFSI presents a variety of workshops for parents and adults throughout the year. Topics range from "Know Your Rights" to Panels about Education and the College Application Process. In addition, IFSI works one on one with adults on job listings and applications.
IFSI advocates for the rights of immigrants and is currently working with families affected by recent changes in TPS and DACA legislation.
IFSI provides leadership support to community leaders and their organizations to strengthen their infrastructure in service delivery to immigrants.
