FOUNDER & EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Dr. Geralde Gabeau is the Founder and Executive Director of IFSI-USA, where she empowers staff to advance planning and employ initiatives benefiting immigrant communities. A dynamic leader with a deep understanding of immigration issues, she is long regarded as a steadfast proponent for immigrants' rights with an unyielding commitment to social justice. Her large-scale community outreach enlightens policymakers, educates the masses, cultivates partnerships and reaches Haitians locally, nationally, and internationally through radio, print, and social media outlets.

Leading and managing the organization's strategic vision, operations and programs by supporting and empowering immigrant communities, Geralde embodies the role of an effective leader with a deep understanding of immigration issues, a commitment to social justice, and the ability to cultivate partnerships, secure funding, and authentically advocate for immigrant rights. Her steadfast advocacy also spans public health where she has worked on many initiatives addressing women and children’s health both in the United States and in Haiti. She earned a Doctoral Degree in Strategic Foresight from Regent University, and graduate degrees in Public Health from Boston University and Management from Cambridge College.

DIRECTOR of PROGRAMS

Jennifer is the Director of Programs, managing and supporting the IFSI team in robust initiatives that promote both the academic and the socio-emotional development and growth of the children and youth she serves. Jennifer has 10 years of experience in youth development through out of school time academics and performing arts enrichment, with a dedicated focus on community engagement. Working with stakeholders to deliver training in community-engaged research, Jennifer addressed health disparities and the social determinants of health within marginalized communities.

As Co-author of Connecting Community to Research, Jennifer facilitated in training programs designed to encourage community members to become advocates in research. Jennifer creatively developed an educational training in communication using improvisational theater techniques. She earned her Masters of Public Health in Urban Health at Northeastern University where she also received her Bachelors of Science in Behavioral Neuroscience.

DIRECTOR of FINANCE

Barry is the Founder and CEO of Jackman Professional Accounting, a full-service accounting firm that provides tax advisory, CFO, compliance, risk management, auditing, business funding and advisory services. With Dr. Gabeau overseeing IFSI’s financial operations, Barry’s more than twenty years in finance and committed support with internal and external financial reporting, stewardship of assets, and guidance regarding regulatory compliance has bolstered IFSI’s small in-house finance office through its exponential growth from grassroots beginnings to a multimillion-dollar budget.

Spanning twenty years in the finance field, Barry earned his Bachelor of Science in accounting at the University of the West Indies in Barbados, and a Master of Business Administration with a focus in Accounting from the Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University in New York. Apart from his financial expertise, Barry is an accomplished judo Olympian with nine championships held in Barbados, performing in the Barbados and Athens 2004 Judo Olympics. He is also an accomplished cricketer and the former President of the Boston Melbourne Sports Cultural Club, as well as treasurer of the Massachusetts State Cricket League.

DIRECTOR of DEVELOPMENT & STRATEGY

Julie is the Director of Development and Strategy, securing philanthropic engagement and leading organizational advancement through development and communication of mission, vision, and planning. With more than three decades of nonprofit experience in building organization capacity, Julie is adept at fostering cooperative, fruitful relationships in collaboration with stakeholders, partners and funders. A staunch advocate, Julie's passion for amplifying the voices of marginalized individuals is fueled by her belief in the importance of advancing equity and inclusion for all.

Invited by the Massachusetts Council of Human Service Providers to speak at the state house on behalf of those she served in 1998 and 2004, Julie also received State recognition for service delivery excellence leading to agency certification with distinction and national accreditation. Adopted by other service providers, her replicable program model serving marginalized groups is widely used today. Julie earned Master degrees in Public Administration, and Political Science in International Relations with an Economic Community Development focus from Suffolk University, and a Bachelor of Science in Communications with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism from Emerson College.

DIRECTOR of SOCIAL SERVICES

Narly has been working in human services for more than ten years and holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology. She began working with FSI full time in 2020 contributing to the COVID-19 pandemic response coordinating vital resources such as: housing, cash assistance, and educational services for the Haitian community. Since then, she has become IFSI’s director of social services helping to place a vast number of arriving migrants in IFSI-sponsored housing.

The Social Services Director position at IFSI entails leading and managing the development, implementation, and evaluation of social services and housing programs aimed at meeting the specific needs of IFSI’s immigrant community. This role requires a compassionate and experienced leader who can collaborate with community partners to provide comprehensive support for immigrants' well-being and successful integration within their new society.

DIRECTOR of IMMIGRATION & STAFF ATTORNEY

Nunotte is the Director of Immigration and Staff Attorney for IFSI-USA and has more than twenty five years experience working in immigration, international diplomacy, and education. With her own private law practice, Nunotte represents clients in immigration proceedings, liaises with community partners educating the broader community regarding important legal issues, provides council, general training, and supervision to immigration staff.

The Director of Immigration and Staff Attorney position at IFSI involves providing legal consultation and assistance to immigrant clients, focusing on immigration matters such as Temporary Protected Status (TPS), asylum, deportation defense, and family-based petitions, and is in charge of oversight and training of all IFSI staff who attend to legal matters concerning immigration. She earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami School of Law.

IMMIGRATION COORDINATOR

Barbara is an established legal aid in Massachusetts with more than ten years of experience working with the Haitian immigrant community. Her recent accomplishments include facilitating various immigrant advocacy activities and coordinating the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) application processes for more than 1,400 Haitians in 2021 alone.

The immigration coordinator at IFSI plays a vital role in coordinating and facilitating legal services for clients, including intake, case management, and referrals. This position requires excellent organizational skills, knowledge of immigration law and procedures, and a passion for supporting immigrant communities through the provision of legal assistance and resources.

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT

Franklin is Assistant to the Executive Director and also serves many roles at IFSI, primarily managing IFSI’s coalition partners and related community leader connections. Formerly the Executive Director of Somerville’s Haitian Coalition, where he spent sixteen years, Franklin joined forces with IFSI in partnership to meet the needs of Haitian immigrants across the state. As coalition liaison, Franklin ensures that IFSI’s ‘One Stop Centers’ in Brockton, Everett, Methuen and Worcester are seamlessly brought into the fold through regular communication and outreach.

An invaluable asset to the Executive Director, the Executive Assistant position provides critical support ensuring efficient operations and the effective execution of the organization's mission to empower and serve immigrant communities. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality, while actively contributing to the organization's overall goals.
